The Whatever It Takes Mindset: Your 2027 Goals Are Already Dead (Unless You Make This One Decision)

The WHATEVER IT TAKES protocols for the woman who is DONE starting again every Monday.

The Whatever It Takes Mindset: Your 2027 Goals Are Already Dead (Unless You Make This One Decision)
The short answer

If nothing changes about how you decide, your 2027 goals will go exactly where 2026's went. You don't have a motivation problem or a time problem. You have a decision problem. The whatever it takes mindset means deciding before you feel ready, burning every back door, expecting it to be hard and following the plan, not your mood. Then you back the decision with structure: Henny's eight protocols for the days goals actually die, from the blow out weekend to the week that's a total sh*tshow.

Key takeaways

  • Same goals, same excuses, same result. Just a different year.
  • If it's your responsibility, it's also your power. Nobody is coming to save you, which means nobody can stop you either.
  • Leave a back door open and you WILL walk through it.
  • That's not whatever it takes. That's whenever it suits.
  • Your feelings get a voice. They don't get a vote.
  • One bad day is a blip. Two is a pattern.
  • A decision with no structure is just a nice feeling. The decision is the fuel, the structure is the car.

Why do I keep setting the same goals every year?

Let me guess.

You've already started thinking about your 2027 goals. Lose the weight. Make the money. Get out of the job, the relationship, the rut. Finally become her.

Now be honest with me...

How many of them are the SAME goals you wrote for 2026?

(Don't worry, I'm not judging. I've copy and pasted the same goals into a brand new journal more times than I'd like to admit.)

Here's the hard pill, and I'm not going to sugar coat it for you...

If nothing changes about how you DECIDE, your 2027 goals are already dead. They'll go exactly where 2026's went. Into a nice notebook, a Pinterest board and a quiet little pile of "maybe next year".

You don't have a motivation problem. You don't have a time problem. You don't have a "my metabolism is broken" problem.

You have a decision problem.

Same goals. Same excuses. Same result. Just a different year.

You're not unlucky. You're undecided.

Everything up to now is on you. (Good.)

I'm going to say the thing nobody wants to hear...

Every single thing that has happened in your life up to this exact moment is your responsibility.

Not your ex. Not your boss. Not your kids' sport schedule, your genetics or your "bad luck". Yours.

I know. It stings. It is SO much easier to blame the people, the timing, the circumstances... anything except the woman staring back at you in the mirror.

(Trust me, I was a world class blamer. I could give you seventeen reasons why it wasn't my fault before you'd even finished asking.)

But here's why this is the BEST news you'll hear all year...

If it's your responsibility, it's also your power. Nobody is coming to save you. Which means nobody can stop you either.

Nobody is coming to save you. Get in the driver's seat.

Indecision is wearing a really good disguise

Indecision doesn't feel like indecision. It feels sensible. Grown up. Realistic.

It sounds like:

  • "I'll see how I go."
  • "I'll start properly on Monday."
  • "I'll give it a few weeks and see if it works."
  • "Once things calm down..."
  • "After the holidays."

Every single one of those is a back door. A little glowing exit sign in the corner of your goal. And let me tell you something about back doors...

If you leave one open, you WILL walk through it. The second it gets hard, boring or inconvenient. Every. Single. Time.

Leave a back door open and you WILL walk through it.

And staying undecided? That's still a decision. It's a decision to stay EXACTLY where you are. Same body. Same bank balance. Same Sunday night dread. Same "this time will be different" on repeat.

You're not failing at your goals. You just never fully decided on them.

What the 1% woman does that you don't (yet)

I've watched women completely change their bodies, their bank accounts and their entire lives. And I've watched women with MORE time, MORE money and MORE support stay stuck for years.

The difference was never talent. Never luck. Never that one had an easier life.

It was this... the decision.

She decides before she feels ready. She doesn't wait for confidence or motivation to show up first. She decides, and lets the belief catch up later.

She burns the back door. No "see how I go". No plan B. Her goal isn't a maybe, so there's nothing to escape to when it gets hard.

She expects it to be hard. She doesn't hope for a smooth week. She plans for a sh*tty one.

She follows the plan, not her mood. Her feelings get a voice. They do NOT get a vote.

She doesn't negotiate with herself. You're having a full blown debate in your head at 5.30am about whether to train. She isn't. It's in the calendar. It's happening.

She acts like the woman she's becoming. Before the results. Before anyone's watching. Every day she asks one question... "What would SHE do?" And then she does it.

(And no, she's not fearless. She's scared, she doubts herself and she has days where she wants to throw her phone in the ocean. She just doesn't let any of that drive the car.)

Decide before you feel ready. The belief catches up.

WHATEVER IT TAKES means WHATEVER it takes

This is where I lose most people. So read this part twice.

You say you'll do "whatever it takes". But what you actually mean is...

  • whatever it takes, until it gets hard
  • whatever it takes, until I have a bad week
  • whatever it takes, unless I don't see results by Friday

That's not whatever it takes. That's whenever it suits.

That's not whatever it takes. That's whenever it suits.

Whatever it takes means whatever it takes. No exit clause. You might slow down. You might change the plan. You might cry in the car. But you do. Not. Quit.

The mindset has to be this:

Throw me to the wolves and I'll come back leading the pack. Test me. Push me. Throw everything you've got at me. I'll keep coming back, over and over and over again, until it's done.

And let's be so for real here... you WILL get tested.

You are not so special that you get to skip the hard part.

Nobody is. The hard part IS the path. Every woman who's ever done something incredible had to fight her way through it.

Throw me to the wolves. I'll come back leading the pack.

The morning I called myself a loser

When I was launching my company, there were mornings I was so broke I'd wake up and think... how the hell am I meant to get on social media today and be this strong, empowered woman leading other women to their goals... when I feel like a complete fraud?

I'd look in the mirror and say it to myself. You are a f*cking loser, Henrietta.

And I'm sorry, but there is no affirmation in the world that fixes that feeling. No candle. No mantra. No vision board.

Vision boards don't do reps. You do.

What fixed it was pushing back...

"Okay, Henrietta. You feel like a loser right now. But you won't be one forever. Because you're going to follow the plan, not your mood."

(I have BEEN there, girl. Smiling on camera with my stomach in knots. Showing up anyway. That's the part nobody sees.)

Look her in the eye. Then decide.

The WHATEVER IT TAKES protocols

Enough mindset. Here's exactly what to DO. Screenshot this. Print it. Stick it on the fridge.

These are for the moments your goals actually die. Not on the good days... on THESE days.

Whatever it takes means whatever it takes.

Protocol 1: The Decision (do this today)

  1. Write the goal with a number and a date. "By [date in 2027], I will [exact goal]."
  2. Underneath it, write: "I will do whatever it takes. There is no other option."
  3. List every back door you normally use. "I'm too busy." "I'll start Monday." "It's not working." All of them.
  4. Cross every single one out. Those are gone now.
  5. Say it out loud. Then tell one person who will hold you to it.

Protocol 2: The Inner B*tch

For when the voice says "you can't", "who do you think you are" or "remember last time".

Your feelings get a voice. They don't get a vote.

  • Name it. "That's the inner b*tch talking. Not me."
  • Answer her with evidence, not feelings. "I've done hard things before. I showed up yesterday."
  • Do ONE action within 60 seconds. Doubt shrinks the moment you move.

Protocol 3: The Blow Out

For the weekend that got away from you.

One bad day is a blip. Two is a pattern.

  • No "starting again Monday". That's the back door talking.
  • Your next meal is a good one. Your next session goes ahead.
  • No guilt, no punishment, no "making up for it".
  • The rule: never miss twice. One bad day is a blip. Two is a pattern.

Protocol 4: The Sh*tshow Week

Sick kids. Work on fire. Family drama. Everything at once.

  • You don't drop everything. You drop to your floor.
  • Your floor is the smallest version of each non-negotiable. A 20 minute walk instead of the full session. A simple meal instead of a perfect one. Five minutes instead of an hour.
  • Write your floor down NOW, while life is calm. You won't make good decisions mid chaos.

You don't drop to zero. You drop to your floor.

(Some weeks are an absolute dumpster fire and you'll be standing in the middle of it thinking "what did I do to deserve this?" I get it. The floor is what gets you through without losing everything you've built.)

Protocol 5: The "It's Not Working"

For when you've been going for weeks and the scale, the bank account or the mirror hasn't moved.

  • Stop judging the outcome. Audit the inputs. Did you ACTUALLY do the plan, consistently? Not mostly. Actually.
  • If no, you have your answer. Fix that before you change anything else.
  • If yes, trust the lag. Results show up after the effort, not alongside it.
  • Count the invisible reps. They're stacking up even when you can't see them yet.

Protocol 6: The Loser in the Mirror

For the days you feel like a fraud, a failure, or just completely over it.

You can feel like a loser and still follow the plan.

  • Let yourself feel it. Don't pretend you're fine.
  • Then do the plan anyway. Not because you feel like it. Because you decided.
  • Remind yourself: you can feel like a loser AND still follow the plan. Feelings aren't facts. Reps are.

Protocol 7: The Flop

For when you put yourself out there and it lands with a thud.

  • Give yourself a short window to be gutted. Then it's done.
  • Ask: what didn't land, and what DOES connect?
  • Go back to what you know works, and show up again tomorrow.

I've lived this one. I once launched a campaign I was SO proud of. My ego was through the roof. And it flopped. Crickets. Radio silence. I'd sunk my savings into it.

It took me fourteen days to get ONE sale.

(Fourteen. Days. Do you know how many times I wanted to quit in those two weeks? All of them.)

But I kept showing up. And when that one sale came through, I celebrated like I'd won the lottery. I had a big paper board on the wall and I'd strike out every sale by hand. Because I'd decided.

Whatever it takes... even if it's one sale at a time.

Protocol 8: The Nightly Receipts

Every single night. Five minutes.

  • Did I do my non-negotiables today? Yes or no. No essays.
  • If no... what got in the way, and what's my plan for it tomorrow?
  • Write down one piece of evidence that you're becoming her.

Every receipt is proof. Stack enough of them and your goal stops being a maybe. It becomes inevitable. It's just a time game.

Feelings aren't facts. Receipts are.

Decision without structure is a nice feeling. That's it.

Here's what ties all of this together...

You can make the decision, feel the fire, cry at the motivational reel... and still fail. Because a decision with no structure is just a nice feeling.

If you want fat loss but your training isn't booked in, your meals aren't planned, you don't know your numbers and you're winging it day by day... you've handed the wheel straight back to your emotions.

And your emotions will choose the couch. Every. Single. Time.

A goal without a plan is just a wish. And you are not a genie.

The decision is the fuel. The structure is the car. You need BOTH.

You get to decide

Nobody is coming to do this for you. Not your partner. Not your coach. Not the clock striking midnight on New Year's Eve.

You're the creator, the author, the CEO of your own existence. You get to decide.

So decide that 2027 is the year you stop being "about to start". Decide that you're going to be a champion. Decide that you'll do whatever it takes.

And to anyone who doubts you... including that voice in your own head?

Watch me.

It's your life. Start f*cking acting like it.

Questions

What is the whatever it takes mindset?

Deciding before you feel ready, burning every back door, expecting it to be hard, and following the plan, not your mood. You might slow down, change the plan or cry in the car, but you don't quit. If it only holds until it gets hard, that's not whatever it takes. That's whenever it suits.

Why do I keep setting the same goals every year?

Henny's answer: it's not motivation, time or your metabolism. It's a decision problem. Phrases like "I'll see how I go" and "I'll start properly on Monday" are back doors, and if you leave one open, you will walk through it.

How do I set goals for 2027 that I'll actually keep?

Write each goal with a number and a date, then write "I will do whatever it takes" underneath. List every back door you normally use and cross them all out. Say it out loud, tell one person who will hold you to it, and back it with structure: training booked, meals planned and your numbers known.

How do I stop starting over every Monday?

Never miss twice. After a blow out weekend, your next meal is a good one and your next session goes ahead, with no guilt, no punishment and no making up for it. One bad day is a blip. Two is a pattern.

What do I do when life gets chaotic and I can't stick to my plan?

Drop to your floor, not to zero. Your floor is the smallest version of each non-negotiable, like a 20 minute walk instead of the full session or a simple meal instead of a perfect one. Write it down now, while life is calm.

What if I'm doing everything and it's not working?

Audit the inputs before you judge the outcome. Did you actually do the plan, consistently? If not, fix that first. If you did, trust the lag: results show up after the effort, not alongside it.
